“Maleficent” animation impressive, plot line falls short

Maleficent and Aurora’s story has been told many times over the years, starting with “Sleeping Beauty” in 1959, then “Maleficent” in 2014 and most recently Disney has come out with “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.”
The new Maleficent is a great second movie that continues the plot line from the first movie perfectly. This movie is focused on the war between humans and fairies or the Moors. Aurora (Elle Fanning) has become the queen of the fairies and is marrying the son of the king of the humans, Prince Philip (Harris Dickinson). Many people like Aurora and Prince Philip believe that the two kingdoms can unite but others aren’t so enthusiastic such as Maleficent (Angeline Jolie) and Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer).
In “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” Disney’s animation is impressive and astonishing. They show every type of fairy and creature the audience can imagine. There are small dandelion fairies that look light as feathers and killer trees that look almost like skeletons. Not only are the creatures otherworldly, the scenery is too. The animation makes the audience want to keep watching just to see what creature will be shown next.
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” has some of the best costumes, makeup and hair that the audience will get to enjoy. The characters costumes, makeup and hair perfectly show their characters personality traits. Maleficent horns and dress show that she is head strong yet elegant and powerful. However, Aurora’s dress and hair selection show that she is sweet and caring. “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” has even been nominated for Oscar for best makeup and hairstyling.
Throughout the movie the plot line is interesting, but the only issue is it is very predictable. As soon as the audience watches some senses in the movie, they will automatically know who the villain is and what the villain has done.
“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is entraining and delightful. This movie teaches the audience that people that come from all different walks of life, humans and fairies, can work through their issues and become friends.
