Candy can motivate any student. This year’s awareness week comes with a sweet bribe— students will be able to give back to their community by just adding sprinkles to their ice cream.

This Wednesday, March 25, Leadership will be hosting an ice cream bar on campus. At each booth will be stationed an ice cream topping and a community service program. Students will be able to give and receive help while filling their bowl with all types of sweets.

“It’s to inspire change,” Brad Naughton said. “Its also to reach out to people in need of help.”

The fair will be taking place on the quad at lunch, allowing all students the opportunity to become involved in helping, or being helped in our community.

School clubs are also being incorporated in the festivities. Rotary, Key Club, and any other clubs wanting to set up a booth will be also available to assist students and fill their ice cream bowl with something sweet.

With community service becoming an essential component to college resumes, students should use this opportunity to not only give back to their community, but to understand why doing so is considered so important.
